Good value with annual plan

I was looking for a new research tool and Fabric caught my eye. The annual billing discount was a big plus for me. It worked out much cheaper than paying monthly, which is important when you're trying to save. The AI Canvas has been really helpful for organizing my projects. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

Easy to get started

My friend told me about Fabric so I decided to check it out. I just wanted something to keep my notes and ideas in one place. The free trial was super easy to sign up for. I've been using the web clipper a lot, it's handy for saving articles. It's pretty intuitive and didn't take long to figure out. Overall, a good experience.

Good for organizing ideas

I tried Fabric.so out because a friend mentioned it. I just got the free trial to mess around with the AI Canvas and the web clipper. It's pretty neat for gathering all my random thoughts and articles in one spot. Setup was easy, didn't have any issues. I might actually pay for it when the trial ends, just to keep using the smart notes. Wish it integrated a bit better with my calendar, but it's still pretty useful.

Promising, but some hiccups

I tried Fabric for my creative projects, mainly for the creative moodboards and the writing assistant. The AI Canvas is really powerful and I liked the visual organization. Setting up the knowledge graph was a bit more complex than I expected though, and it took me a while to get the hang of it. Also, my referral bonus took about a week to show up in my account, which was a little annoying. Once it was there, it was fine, but the delay was a minor frustration. Still, a solid platform for what it offers.

Reliable workspace, consistent experience

Another great experience with Fabric.so. I've been using them for a while now, primarily for research and organizing project notes. This time, I upgraded to the team plan, and the transition was smooth, just like my previous individual subscription. The collaborative documents feature works really well for our small team. I continue to rely on the AI Assistant for summarizing articles. Still wish the mobile experience was a bit more robust, but overall, it's a solid tool I keep coming back to.

Loved the AI Canvas!

I just started using the AI Canvas feature on Fabric.so for my new project, and it's fantastic! Organizing my ideas has never been this smooth. The visual layout really helps me connect concepts. I'm definitely sticking with Fabric.so and will tell all my creative friends about it!

Good features, slow setup

I recently signed up for Fabric.so, mainly for the collaborative documents and task management features for my team. The AI assistant is quite helpful for drafting quick summaries, and the cloud storage integration was straightforward. However, getting everything set up with our existing files and importing notes took a bit longer than I expected, probably a full afternoon. The interface sometimes feels a little cluttered when you're first getting started, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty powerful. Value for money seems fair, especially with the annual billing discount, but the initial learning curve could be smoother.

Reliable for research

I've been a Fabric.so user for about a year now, mainly for my research workspace. This past month, I relied heavily on the personal AI search and web clipper for a big paper. It's consistently delivered, just like my previous orders. The semantic search is a lifesaver, always finding exactly what I need. It's why I keep coming back, it just works for my workflow.

Is the Fabric.so early access invite still a thing? Heard you get a deal.

M MeenaV 3 hours ago ✓ Best Answer
I got in via an invite link from a friend, and yeah, it gave me a little extra off the first year. Not a huge discount, but something.

Oh, so it's a referral bonus then?

Pretty much, yeah. Both you and the referrer get a small credit.

Anyone know if Fabric.so has a working promo code right now?

N NehaJ 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Check their Twitter, sometimes they drop flash sales there for a few hours. That's how I got mine a few months back.

I tried 'WELCOME15' last week, said it was expired. Pretty sure they mostly push the annual discount or the student one.

Student discount is solid if you qualify. Saved me a bunch.

Yeah, I got the annual one. It's a decent chunk off.

anyone know if i can use my refer a friend code with an annual subscription discount? trying to stack savings lol

J Joseph B. 1 month ago
I think the referral credits usually apply after any other discounts, so you might get both. Not 100% sure but that's how it worked for me a while back.
6
B Betty Williams 1 month ago
Afaik, you can use a referral code to get credits, and then pay annually for that discount. It's not like a coupon code you enter at checkout with another coupon.

is fabric good for managing a ton of PDFs and research papers? like does it actually make it easy to annotate and search within them?

G Grace M. 1 month ago
Dude, yes. The PDF annotation is solid, and the AI search is a game changer for finding stuff inside your documents. Way better than just tagging.
1
T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
I use it for all my research papers. You can highlight, add notes directly, and the AI search can pull out relevant snippets from inside the PDFs. It's pretty good for that.

Are there any student discounts for Fabric? My university email qualifies for a bunch of other software.

J Jeff Williams 1 month ago
Yeah, they do have one! Check their site, there should be a link for student sign-ups.

I got a student discount last semester, just had to verify my .edu email. It was a decent chunk off the annual plan.

what if I decide to cancel my subscription? is it a pain to get my data out, like my notes and files?

B Brittany D. 1 month ago
Nah, they have export options for your notes. I haven't cancelled myself, but I've seen the export features. Seems straightforward.
3
S Sam N. 1 month ago
You can export your data. I exported some stuff to try out a different tool once and it was pretty easy, mostly standard formats like markdown or PDFs.

Is there actually a free version of Fabric? Or is it just a trial then you have to pay?

M Megan H. 1 month ago
There's a free trial, not a completely free tier forever. It gives you a good feel for it though.
2
H Hannah Wright 1 month ago
I don't think there's a free version like some other apps, it's more like a trial to test things out. After that, it's subscription.

how long does it typically take to get access after signing up for the free trial? do i need an invite code first?

J Jeff L. 3 weeks ago
You usually get access pretty much instantly after signing up, no invite code needed for the trial.
0
S Sean J. 3 weeks ago
Nah, just sign up with your email. The invite codes are more for when they're in early stages or specific promos, not for the standard trial now.

hey thinking about switching from notion. how does fabric compare for just personal knowledge management, not really teams?

O Olivia 1 month ago
I moved from Notion last year. Fabric's AI search and the visual canvas for connecting ideas is way better for 'second brain' stuff. Notion felt too much like a database for my personal notes.
1
H Hannah Johnson 1 month ago
It's different for sure. Fabric is more about visual connections and AI helping find things. If you like structured databases, Notion might still be better, but for free-form thinking, Fabric shines.

Thinking of moving my team over from Milanote, but worried about collaborative features. Is it actually good for multiple people working on a project?

Z Zach Sanchez 1 month ago
We use it for our small design team, and the shared workspaces are really intuitive. Everyone can see changes in real-time, and assigning tasks works well. It's more structured than Milanote for projects.
1
M Michael Parker 1 month ago
Yeah, it's built for teams. You can share canvases, documents, and the AI assistant can even help everyone stay on the same page. Much better than trying to hack together team stuff in a personal app.
